Dr. Rim is the Founder and CEO of College Masters.  She has a UCLA Master’s Degree in Education and earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine where she currently teaches upper-division writing in the School of Social Sciences.  During graduate school, Dr. Rim quickly distinguished herself from her peers, earning a multitude of departmental and campus-wide awards of the highest distinction recognizing her excellence in research, teaching, and service to the university.  Her nationally recognized research also resulted in her winning highly competitive and prestigious research fellowships, funds that she used to support the entirety of her doctoral dissertation research.  After having her research published in several peer-reviewed journals and well respected books in the discipline, Dr. Rim graduated at the top of her Ph.D. cohort and faster than the average student’s time to degree.

For almost a decade, Dr. Rim has taught and advised undergraduates at some of the most distinguished colleges and universities in the country. Upper-division writing courses for juniors and seniors, lower-division classes in American Politics, and senior seminars in American Political Behavior are just a few of the courses Dr. Rim possesses in her teaching repertoire.  Having taught at the University of Southern California (USC) and at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, one of the most highly ranked liberal arts colleges in the nation, Dr. Rim has had the pleasure of working with some of the best and brightest students on their writing, research, and future academic planning.

Experienced as both a scholar and teacher, Dr. Rim offers a unique perspective to clients as she helps parents and students navigate the college admissions process.  As a student, she had a keen understanding of what it took to stand out as an applicant when competing for a limited number of slots.  And in the classroom, she consistently earned the highest scores on her teaching evaluations demonstrating her effectiveness in teaching and motivating her students academically.  Additionally, the three years she spent working as the Director of the Public Affairs Internship Program at UC Irvine contributes to Dr. Rim’s extensive experience advising students from a variety of majors as they made plans to apply to the nation’s top law schools, Master’s and doctoral programs.

As she is known to share with anyone who asks, the best part of her job as a college professor is the time she spends connecting with her students on a personal level and helping them to create a realistic and manageable plan for achieving their individual academic goals.  As the Founder and CEO of College Masters, Dr. Rim has turned her passion for helping young people into a full time enterprise, advising and mentoring college bound students on a daily basis.  Drawing from her unique vantage point and a versatile knowledge base, Dr. Rim finds tremendous fulfillment as she helps her students turn their college dreams into a reality.
